I am helping with the yearbook this year. Yearbook is a class this year and the teacher is Ms. Getzen. There is still a lot to do until the yearbook is finished but we have done a few things like the senior pages. Some assignments we have had are making a template for the senior pages, choosing a theme, and taking 10 photos around the school. To make the yearbook, we use a website called myhjyearbook.com. Ms. Getzen made an account for all the students in the class.
A 21st-century skill I use in this class is interpersonal skills. I used interpersonal skills because I had to email the seniors who didn't turn in their pictures for the yearbook. I developed my interpersonal skills because I had to to email the seniors that I was responsible for who didn't submit their pictures for the yearbook, informing them to get their pictures in as soon as possible.
A big part of the yearbook is the senior pages. The yearbook has pages dedicated to the seniors. Those pages are some of the first. In the yearbook for the seniors we are including a senior portrait, a baby picture, a school appropriate picture of the senior's choosing, senior quotes, and the senior's plans for after high school. In the class, each senior was assigned to a group of seniors. I was responsible for the first six seniors. I put the their pictures, quote,s and future plans in the yearbook.
What I have learned in this class relates to what I have learned in the past because I took Photography/Yearbook as one of my electives in Sophomore year. I can apply this to future learning if I ever do anything related to graphic design. Graphic design is a big part of working on the yearbook and it is something that I enjoy.
Something that I am proud of this class the work that I have done for the senior pages. I went through to see what seniors turned in their pictures, quotes, and future plans. I marked who had what in using a spreadsheet. I made the questionnaire on Google Forms that was used to get the quotes and future plans. I have also completed the senior pages that I am responsible for when most of the seniors in the class haven't completed theirs.
