ReflectionName of Assignment: 1-D Kinematics Equation
Subject: Physics Facilitator/Teacher: Acellus Description of Work/Assignment: This year I am taking physics on Acellus. Acellus is an online program where you can take classes. You watch a video and then after the video you answer five questions about the video. There are unit tests, a mid-term, and a final. Which 21st Century Skill do you feel this assignment addresses, and why? I demonstrated Problem Solving and Thinking skills while working on Acellus because I had got a question that I just couldn't figure out. I was learning about 1-D Kinematic equations which is where you use different equations to figure out things like velocity, acceleration, etc. Basically it was like a more difficult math class. The question was a word problem and I had to figure out what equation to use, how to solve it, and the answer. I tried doing to multiple times and it kept saying it was wrong. I watched a video that Acellus provided for me. The video was someone doing the same problem just with different numbers. I did exactly how the person in the video did it and it still said it was wrong. At this time I was on the Mainland, visiting my siblings, and staying with my brother. One afternoon while I was working on school work I asked my brother if he could help me with the question. We both worked on it and found out that we were missing parentheses while plugging in the equation into a calculator. What are you most proud of from this assignment, and why? I am proud of this assignment because when I couldn't figure out how to solve to problem I asked for help. How did you develop and/or improve upon your 21st Century Skill with this assignment? I developed my problem solving and thinking skills by having a problem and finding a way to solve that problem. What was most difficult about completing this task? The most difficult part of this task was trying to figure out how to solve the question without any help. How could you improve this work? If you could start over, what would you do different? I don't know how I could improve this work. I could solve the other problems I got before but I couldn't solve this one. How does this relate to what you have learned in the past? This relate to what have learned in the past because before I had to find a variable in the equation, similar to how you do it in algebra. How can you apply this to future learning? I can apply this to future learning by asking someone for help or watching videos online if I am having a hard time. |
