In Humanities, we had to write a paper about voting rights for everyone. The essay was for a contest the teacher wanted to us to enter. The contest was celebrate the 150th anniversary of the ratification of the 15th amendment and the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th amendment. The paper had to include certain court cases that deal with both of the amendments. The first thing I did was research the court cases. Then I wrote the rough draft. In class one day we then peer edited each other's rough drafts. After I wrote my final draft when I got home, submitted it to the teacher and into the contest. This project demonstrates global awareness because I had to research the amendments and how they affected other people. I also had to research the court cases. If I had to redo this project, I would talk more about other court cases and turn in my rough draft earlier, I turned it in late because that was when I was really sick in February. I am proud of this project because I think I did a good job explaining the two amendments, the court cases, and meeting the requirements for the essay.
