In Humanities we did a project called "How and Why Do Individuals Change Their Minds?" It was an essay project. We read short articles. The articles were about how society changed their minds about the earth being the center of the solar system. In the essay students had to apply the information to their essay.
A 21st-century skill I used was information skills. I used information skills because I used information from the articles in my essay. I developed my information skills by finding the information that would best support the points I made and using them in my writing.
This assignment was pretty difficult and I am proud of it because I got 17/20 on it. The part of this assignment that was the most difficult for me was trying to make it five paragraphs. I had an introduction, two points that each had their own paragraph, and a conclusion. It wasn't until the last day that came up with a third point and made it five paragraphs. Since this was a difficult task there is some things that I could've done better. One of those things is my claim. If I could redo the project I would make it more clear what my claim is.
I have done similar projects in the past. When I took English 100 in sophomore year I had to do a research paper that had a claim and I had to research information to use in the paper. I learned different skills from that project and this one. I can apply those skills to future learning by reading an article and apply what I read to the assignment I am doing.
