ReflectionName of Assignment: Student Handbook Scavenger Hunt
Subject: Advisory Facilitator/Teacher: Ms. Terry and Ms. Lindsey Description of Work/Assignment: During the first day of school we spent the whole school day in advisory and during that time we did a scavenger hunt. We were split up into groups in break-out room. In our groups we had to answer questions about the student handbook and we had to go on a kind of scavenger hunt in the handbook to find the answers. Which 21st Century Skill do you feel this assignment addresses, and why? A 21st-century skill I used was communication skills because I had to talk to my groups members to figure out who was going to do what questions. What are you most proud of from this assignment, and why? I am proud of this assignment because I found all the answers in the time we were given to complete it. How did you develop and/or improve upon your 21st Century Skill with this assignment? I improved my communication skills by talking with my group members to decide who would do what questions. I had to come out of my comfort zone and talk to people I don't know that well. What was most difficult about completing this task? The most difficult part of this assignment was finding the answers. It took a little while for me to find the answers to the questions I had. The questions I had were in the middle therefore the answers were in the middle of the handbook. For one of the questions I actually thought I had found the answer but as I looked for the other answers I realized that it was wrong when I found the right answer. How could you improve this work? If you could start over, what would you do different? I don't think there is much I could do to improve this assignment because it was a pretty simple assignment but I did have a bonus question that I couldn't find the answer to. So I guess I could have looked to the answer a little more quickly but I did the best I could. How does this relate to what you have learned in the past? This relates to what I have learned in the past because I have had to do similar things. In previous years I have had to read something and find specific information in it to answer questions. How can you apply this to future learning? I can apply this to future learning by working well with other people and talking to each other to split up the work. |
