Name of Assignment: Dance Video Project Subject: Algebra II Facilitator/Teacher: Ms. S Description of Work/Assignment: In Algebra II we had to make a dance using functions and then we had to film ourselves doing the dance. Which 21st Century Skill do you feel this assignment addresses, and why? A 21st-century skill I used was self-directional skills. The video had to be done completely at home and we didn’t get time in class to do it so I had to use my own time outside of class to get it done. What are you most proud of from this assignment, and why? The part I’m most proud of is the editing. I barely have any editing skills and had to google how to do certain things. I think the video turned out pretty good for someone who doesn’t know how to edit. How did you develop and/or improve upon your 21st Century Skill with this assignment? I improved on my self-directional skills by having no time to work on it in class and having to manage my free time wisely to complete the project by the due date. What was most difficult about completing this task? The most difficult part of this project was trying to make it the required length. The video had to be at least a minute long. The actually dancing part took up only about 45 seconds so I had to find ways through editing to make the video a minute long. How could you improve this work? If you could start over, what would you do different? If I could do this project again I would do the dance a little slower so that way it would take up more time in the video. How does this relate to what you have learned in the past? This project relates to what I have learned in the past because before doing this project we did a whole unit on functions. How can you apply this to future learning? I can apply this to future learning by taking the editing skills I learned from this project and apply them to any future video projects. |
